The Embodiment of Resourcing: Building Community and Collective Power, New Orleans

“It is rare indeed that people give. Most people guard and keep; they suppose it is they themselves that they are guarding and keeping, whereas what they are actually guarding and keeping is their system of reality and what they assume themselves to be. One can give nothing whatever without giving oneself—that is to say, risking oneself. If one cannot risk oneself, then one is simply incapable of giving. And, after all, one can give freedom only by setting someone free.”

  • James Baldwin, “Down at the Cross” from The Fire Next Time

The Weavers Fellowship, Thursday, October 10th 6 pm - 9 pm will be at The Workshop in New Orleans for an evening of intimate weaving of--stories, politics, theories of change, radical imaginations, and revolutionary work. In this workshop we will be in relationship while examining our shared assets by being honest about what we have, what we need, and how we can share resources with each other. This workshop is open to anyone interested in building a more equitable, creative, generative society where resources are exchanged more freely and with a lens centered on justice.

Please join us if you are interested in:

  • Being in an experimental, embodied, and emergent experience with others

  • Through employing your radical imagination, making movement towards more abundance in your life and in your community.

  • More deeply understanding what resources of all kinds you have to offer your community and how to activate them.

  • Rethinking what power and wealth means and your own relationship to it.

  • Learning more about The Weavers Fellowship, Gallery of the Streets, PUNCTUATE, Southern Organizers Academy, and the other projects supported by us.

We look forward to being in conversation and community with you!
